Malignant nasal tumours

There are different types of cells in the nasal cavity and sinuses that can cause the following malignant tumours of the nose:

  • squamous cell carcinoma: very common squamous cell tumor of the nasal cavity and sinuses;
  • adenocarcinoma and carcinomas of the minor salivary glands: cover the respiratory mucous membranes;
  • esthesioneuroblastoma or olfactory neuroblastoma: originates from the cells of the olfactory nerve.
  • In addition to these tumours are lymphomas, sarcomas, melanomas and undifferentiated carcinomas can also develop alongside benign forms, such as nasal polyps.
